Dock leveller, seal and bumper service
The door is only half the bay. Levellers, bumpers, shelters and seals fail on their own schedule, and a bay with a good door and a broken leveller is still a bay that’s down. We service dock equipment in the same visit as the door, so one technician covers the whole opening instead of two trades and two invoices.
What we service at the dock
Mechanical and hydraulic dock levellers: lip and deck operation, hold-down and spring assist, hinge and lip pins, and the safety legs. Dock seals and shelters: torn fabric, compressed foam, damaged frames and head curtains. Dock bumpers: cracked, missing or worn through to the mounting plate, which is where trailer contact starts reaching the wall. Vehicle restraints and dock lights where fitted.
A leveller that hesitates under a forklift, or a seal that has gone flat, usually shows up first as a complaint from the yard rather than a breakdown. Catching it on a scheduled visit is cheaper than the day it stops a trailer.

Signs dock equipment needs service
- Leveller doesn’t seat flush on the trailer bed, or hesitates and drops under load
- Lip won’t extend fully, or stays extended after the trailer leaves
- Dock seals torn or compressed flat, letting weather, dust and pests in
- Bumpers cracked or missing, with trailer contact reaching the building face
- Shelter fabric torn at the frame or the head curtain hanging loose
- Pit full of debris, hydraulic fluid on the deck, or a leveller that bangs on contact

- Function and safety checkLeveller cycle under load, lip travel, hold-down, safety legs, seal and bumper condition, restraint operation.
- Repair or quoteBumpers, seals, lip pins and common leveller hardware are on the truck. Larger leveller work is quoted with a date.
- Per-bay recordEach bay gets its own note, which is the start of a service history for the whole dock.
