A door stuck open overnight is a security exposure. A door stuck closed at 6 AM is a full stop on receiving. Neither one waits for business hours. The emergency line is answered 24 hours a day, and blocked bays and open doors are dispatched first.
What counts as an emergency
- Door won’t close and the bay is exposed after hours
- Door won’t open and trucks are queued at the dock
- Cable snapped or spring broken with the door stuck mid-travel
- Door has been hit by a vehicle and is off its track or out of the guides
- Motor operator smoking, grinding, or tripping breakers repeatedly
- Security shutter jammed open at closing time, or jammed shut at opening
What happens when you call
Dispatch takes the door type, the site and what it is doing. If the door can be made safe and secure on the first visit but needs a part, we do that first: closed and locked for the night, or opened and blocked safely so the bay can run, then back with the part. Response is prioritized for planned maintenance customers, but every call gets answered and every blocked bay gets a technician.
What a visit looks like
- Make it safeA door stuck mid-travel with a broken spring or cable is a hazard first and a repair second. Nobody works under it until it is secured. The industry calls the area under and around a rolling door the red zone, and DASMA Technical Data Sheet 276 sets out how it is kept clear during service.
- Secure or reopen the bayClose and lock, or open and block, so the site is secure or the dock can run while the repair is finished.
- RepairMost emergency repairs finish on the first visit with parts from the truck. Larger parts are ordered and fitted on a stated date.
- Prevent the repeatIf the failure was predictable, you get told what would have caught it, whether that is a conversion or a maintenance program.
